'The 27 books' series is an ongoing line of life drawings made in restricted timing.
I am deeply interested in religious narratives. I find them relevant, contemporary and relatable. In this series I strive to decipher and document contemporaneity through the lens of the New Testament in a controlled environment of weekly study sessions.
I also explore how patriarchal hierarchies shape my practice, my aesthetic perception and the artist-model relationship.
Blending the subjective reality, subjective phantasms and the unknowable is a pillar of my practice. I notice the tension between the predetermined canon and my own view and subjectivity. I accentuate this tension through fragmentation, collage techniques, multilayered approach. I mix materials, going from precision and irreversibility of ink to deliberate excessiveness and intensity of charcoal, combining direct and inverse perspective.
